After handing over the reins of my dried flower and preservation business in Wellington, NZ to my talented sister, I’m beyond excited to continue my passion in Queensland. The warm welcome from the Gold Coast wedding industry has been amazing, and I can’t wait to help more couples preserve a piece of their special day. Whether you’re planning a beachside ceremony in Surfers Paradise, a romantic hinterland wedding in Mount Tamborine, or a luxury resort celebration in Broadbeach, bouquet preservation is a beautiful way to capture the magic of your wedding forever.
Bouquet preservation is still a relatively new and growing trend, and as Cherished Blooms settles into its new home in the Gold Coast, we need to adapt to the subtropical climate and the wide new variety of flowers we’ll need to preserve.
What we’ve noticed about Gold Coast Wedding Florals
Local florists create some of the most breathtaking, vibrant arrangements. Many Gold Coast wedding bouquets feature a mix of tropical blooms, Australian natives, and classic romantic flowers, each with different preservation qualities:
🌿 Tropical Flowers (Frangipani, Orchids, Anthuriums, Hibiscus) – These bold, exotic flowers thrive in the Gold Coast heat and make stunning wedding bouquets, but they require special techniques for drying due to their high moisture content. Flowers can become fragile and are a little more challenging to preserve than classic blooms.
🌸 Australian Natives (Proteas, Banksia, Eucalyptus, Billy Buttons) – Native flowers are incredibly resilient and dry beautifully, making them ideal for long-term preservation. They maintain their shape and texture exceptionally well but can be challenging due to their larger sizes, requiring adjustments to frame depths.
💐 Classic Wedding Blooms (Peonies, Roses, Dahlias, Gardenias) – While these timeless favourites remain popular, Gold Coast brides often mix them with tropical or native elements to create stunning bouquets.

Why Gold Coast Brides should preserve with us:
Each type of flower behaves differently when preserved, which is why we prefer 3D preservation - it allows us to maintain the natural shape, texture, and dimension of these blooms, rather than pressing them flat like traditional methods.
Preserving Beach & Outdoor Wedding Bouquets in the Gold Coast’s warm, humid climate, flowers can fade quickly. Having a local preservationist is important, so that they don’t have to be sent via courier or mail, and they can be persevered as fresh as possible.
Cherished Blooms collaborates with local florists, wedding venues, and event planners in the Gold Coast to help brides discover this special service. We work together to coordinate collection of flowers after the wedding taking that stress away from brides and their wedding party.
Perfect for Destination Weddings – Many couples travel to the Gold Coast for their wedding and don’t want to leave their flowers behind. With our preservation service, they can take home a lasting keepsake. We can arrange shipping of your frame on completion.
·A Sustainable Wedding Keepsake – Gold Coast brides are increasingly eco-conscious, and preservation is a wonderful alternative to letting flowers go to waste. Instead of throwing away a bouquet, it can become a permanent display piece.
