Wedding Bouquet Preservation - Brisbane
You chose every flower in that bouquet for a reason. Then you carried it through the biggest day of your life. It’s only natural to want to keep it, and being in Brisbane doesn’t put that out of reach.
My studio is on the Gold Coast, an hour or so down the M1, and a growing share of my bouquets come from Brisbane brides. I dry each bloom individually in silica gel, so it keeps its full 3D shape, depth and personality instead of being pressed flat. Then I handcraft them into a shadow box frame, a glass dome or a resin keepsake.
The Brisbane bouquets I’ve preserved have all come through beautifully, mostly because the brides looked after them well. They kept them cool and hydrated, and out of the heat on the drive down. I’ll always be honest with you, too: colours shift over time, and not every bloom survives the process. I’ll tell you what to expect for your flowers before we start.

How the flowers get to me
Usually someone from the wedding party drives the bouquet down the day after. I’m available for drop-offs most weekends if we plan it ahead.

Ensuring they arrive in good shape
-
Kept cool overnight. A cool room or the fridge (not the freezer), away from fruit.
-
Kept hydrated. Stems back in water as soon as the photos are done.
-
Kept out of the heat. On the drive down, they ride inside the car with the air-con on, never in a hot boot or on a sunny seat.

Bringing it home
If collecting the finished piece is tricky, then I can often help. I travel to Brisbane once or twice a month, so I can bring your finished piece up closer to you.
